Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of PizzaCup, the web-based checkpoint race platform available at pizza-cup.ch.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using PizzaCup, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
PizzaCup lets organizers create checkpoint races and lets participants join, track progress, validate checkpoints, and view results. Features may change as we improve the product. We may suspend or discontinue parts of the service with reasonable notice when practical.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in method secure.
- Organizers are responsible for events they create, including who they invite and how they run the race.
- Participants must use the email, Google, or Apple account they register with to recover access.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Cheat, spoof location, abuse checkpoint validation, or interfere with fair race results.
- Harass others, upload unlawful or infringing content, or misuse personal data of other users.
- Attempt to break, scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the service except as allowed by law.
- Use PizzaCup for commercial resale or competing services without our written permission.
5. Real-world races
PizzaCup is a coordination and tracking tool. Organizers and participants are solely responsible for route safety, permissions, traffic rules, insurance, and local laws. Always race carefully and respect public spaces and private property. PizzaCup does not supervise physical events.
6. Content and licenses
You keep ownership of content you upload (for example event names, images, and quotes). You grant PizzaCup a non-exclusive license to host, display, and process that content as needed to run the service. Race results and leaderboard information may be visible to others in the same event.
7. Third-party services
PizzaCup relies on third-party providers such as Supabase (auth, database, storage, realtime), OpenStreetMap contributors for map tiles, Open-Meteo (elevation data based on Copernicus DEM for route profiles), and Google or Apple for optional social sign-in. Their terms and privacy policies also apply when you use those features.
8. Availability and disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect GPS accuracy, error-free rankings, or that route elevation profiles match on-the-ground conditions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PizzaCup and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or race outcomes, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for PizzaCup in the 12 months before the claim, or CHF 0 if the service was free.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk for other users, or misuse the platform. You may stop using PizzaCup at any time. Provisions that should survive termination (including liability limits and intellectual property) will continue to apply.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Switzerland have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection law gives you other rights.
